Mustard you say?

No, this post isn’t about food, but it’s about my love of that mustard colour you’ve seen splashed across Instagram lately, and I’m talking any kind of it.

I’ve never been keen on the colour yellow, or orange as a matter in fact. Perhaps it’s something about the way they’ve never really complemented my skin tone, I guess I’ve sort of been afraid of them. After 23 years, this summer that all changed. I don’t know what it is but I’ve been obsessing over that 70s vibe these days. There’s something about the warm tones and playful cuts that come along with it that you’ve got to love, even if you don’t flaunt it yourself. The first person who influenced my love for this style is Bluebird Vintage. I’ve been reading James’ blog for over 10 years now, totally captivated by her entire vibe and way of life (FYI, her family home = goals). Despite avidly following her blog because I was encapsulated by her style, I never tried it out myself, instead I just envied, and there’s no actual reason why.

That Rusty Character

From these ridiculously stylish chairs at Treves & Hyde, to this lemon-toned gingham dress, it’s safe to say I’ve been celebrating mustard in any kind of way I can haha (and yes I even delved into some dijon here in France 😉 ) When I came by this earthy-toned skirt from Romwe, I was introduced to a completely new colour that I’ve happen to fall in love with. It’s my colour of the year! Because of it’s neutral tone I feel I can wear this skirt with almost anything, and it has that perfect rusty character that matches well with my endless collection of white chiffon blouses. It’s got a great A-line cut to it, and I love the added texture of the corduroy – definitely feeling those 70s vibes!

You can purchase the A-line corduroy skirt featured in this post here.
