This was an impromptu birthday lunch planned for me at Sushisamba, a popular restaurant in London serving a unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian dishes. It was a treat from my Mum <3! She originally wanted to try the OXO Tower also in London, although knowing that she has already booked to go there for her own birthday later this month, I thought we should try somewhere else. I have been to Sushisamba before, around a year ago? The food is spectacular, as is the overall experience. The restaurant is located on the 38th floor of the Heron Tower (practically opposite Liverpool Street station), and has a super fast lift with a spectacular view of London.
We were seated right by the large windows positioned with a top view of East London. We ordered the Green Bean Tempura for starters, followed by a large sharing plate of the Churrasco Rio Grande which is the first image above – wouldn’t have been my first choice, but it was INCREDIBLE. There was also a small dish of Sake (Salmon) Nigiri, and we ended with a Chocolate Banana Cake desert featuring maple butter, plantain chip, vanilla rum ice cream mmm.
I tried to get some more good photos, but one of the waiter’s stopped me as I got my new SLR out (exciting upgrade!) and said for security reasons that I was not allowed to use it 🙁 I’m pretty sure my friend used her SLR last time we were there.. and wasn’t stopped.
